STAR (37) v. TOXO (0). The first junior teams of the above clubs mot on the recreation ground, Pukekura Park, yesterday afternoon, and, as will be Judged by the score registered, the Issue was never In doubt after the flrat few minutes' play. The home team's forwards played a vigorous garaj. and tries were registered in rapid succession. The Toko players stuck to their task gamely, and, though outmatched, they were never downhearted. The final score was Star 37, Toko nil. Mr. O. West was referee. STRATFORD (17) v. STAR II (0). The second juniors of the above clubs met on the racecourse yesterday afternoon, and after a good contest, in which both teams showed considerable promise, Stratford won by 17 points to nil. Mr. W. Koch .was referee. JUNIOR COMPETITION. HIGH SCHOOL (9) v. INGLEWOOD (3). (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) The game was played at Inglewood, under favorable weather conditions. In the first half Inglewood, with a fair wind, kept the visitors on the defensive, and B. Hobson scored in the corner. The-' kick at goal was unsuccessful. Osborne kicked a flue goal for High School. On resuming High School attacked with vigor, but Inglewood cleared. The local backs were continually on the verge of scoring, but faulty play always brought disaster. Towards the final stages the visiting forwards were continually on the offensive. Prom a penalty Willis increased the High School's score to 6. Up-and-down play ensued, both teams attacking In turn, when Whittle, by fast following up, scored near the corner. Willis failed to convert. The whistle sounded with the scores: High School, 9; Inglewood, 3. Mr. F. Julian refereed.
TUKAPA v. CLIFTON. A PECULIAR POSITION. Tho Tukapa first lunior team met Clifton at tho Cainp Unserve, \Valtarji, yesterday. Clifton played a very heavy f orward team, and Tukapa had to call on a couple of emergencies owing to Injuries received in last week's match. About fifteen minutes before time was called Clifton claimed a dropped goal by JfcKoy. Tho referee (P. Roberta) was unable to give a final decision, owing to his not being in a position to see Before they recommenced he advised the Clifton captain that the question would be referred to the Rugby Union for confirmation. As, hovyever, the rules state that tho referee is sola judge of play, it Is difficult to see how the union can give any decision, and the game should be « draw A few minutes before play ceased the referee had occasion to order off the field Enwhata, Clifton wing" threequarter, for disputing Ills decision. SENIOR COMPETITION. STAR v. OKATO. The following team lias been selected by Mr. .T.
