ALLEGED THEFT OF OAK. By. Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Last Might. At tiie Supreme Court, Henry Lauritz Homes, a young nion, was charged with the theft of an Overland car valued at £400; also a rug, mackintosh and overcoat valued at £Q 16s. It is alleged that accused took the car from a street in Blenheim, and drove to Kelson, where he endeavored to sell it. The defence was that the car was given him the game evening by c cattle dealer named Keith Robinson, who approached him Borne weeks ago, spying he had a motor car to sell later o;i, but Keith Robinson never materialised. The jury returned a verdict that they found iu difficult to believe the accuseds story; yet the evidence for the Crown did not disprove hu story; therefore, they returned a verdict of not guilty. NAPIER SESSIONS. .Napier, Last Night. At the Supreme Court Ucorge Waerea, who pleaded guilty to a charge of arson in connection with the burning of Te Ante College, was sentenced to twelve months' reformative treatment at Inver-" cargill. In the case against Lyiell Henry, charged with indecently assaulting a female aged 6 years, the jury disagreed and a new trial was ordered.
