NEW ZEALAND FINANCE.
THE WAB LOAN. NEW ZEALAND WILL RECEIVE SHAKE OF GERMAN INDEMNITY. (By Wire—Own Correspondent.) Wellington. May 7. The Minister tor Finance is not read; to make a full statement of the wa» loan arrangements. The new loan has been announced, and subscriptions in anticipation of the loan are reaching the Treasury. Subscriptions have been flowing in ever since the last loan was floated, and there are indications time the Government ia increasingly dispn-e-J to lean upon the large investing institutions, which, in any event, will provide most of the money. It is evident that the course of New Zealand finance in the near future will be affected by the outcome of the peace negotiations. If the Germans sign and proceed to pay over the first instalment of the indemnity, amounting to k thousand millions or so, New Zealand will receive a share of the money. The disposition of this share, amounting, perhaps, to several millions at once, w6ikld he a matter for the consideration of the Government.
