The Melbourne, Ltd., have been fortunate in securing a small lot ot' block four-ply wool, suitable for darning and knitting. The price is Is 8d per skein As the demand for this class,' of wool far exceeds the supply housewives should pay an early visit to the store. The Salvation Army band has grown to su'ch an extent this last 18 months; that the funds collected : from all sources, including the weekly subscriptions given by its own members, have not been sufficient to meet the expenses. The total expenditure for new instruments and music amounted to £IOO. It has been decided to have 4 band week-end festival to try and raise a sufficient fund to buy more instruments, of which they are badly in need. "The Wreck of the Wairarapa" will bo interesting to hear in the Army Hall on Sunday night, and a special band concert will be given in the Good Templar Hall on Monday at 8 o'clock. Donations will be thankfully received either by Commandant Rowlands or tiny band member.
