It appears that after a man named Stokes way arrested in connection with. ia. shooting affair in Little Collins Street' both sides agreed to an armistice, which was drawn up in black and white, signed and witnessed, providing that shooting must cease until the charge against Stokeu had been disposed of. Since then several members of one gang have been sentenced for vagrancy and it appears.that this has terminated the agreement. The latest outrage reported is in connection with Robert Whiting, who was previously wounded three times. He way attacked at home at Fitzroy and six shots were fired without effect' The assailants drove away in a motowjjlr. They fired a dozen shots through tie windows of Thorpe'a house.
