AN ASTOUNDING OFFER.
INDENT AGENT CANVASSES FOB GERMAN GOODS. Invereargill, June 4. An indent agent called at a local fancy goods firm last week and solicited orders for German goods, which ho said were awaiting shipment when shipping was available. The local firm was astounded at the offer, and simply laughed. The indentor did not visit other firms. The Mayor of Invercargill had his attention drawn to the matter, and said that it was astounding tliat such things go on when hostilities had not officiallyceased. The agent's efforts amounted to trading with the enemy.
