We did not win, the war alope, and must, therefore, accept the view of the heads of the Allied Governments, who had decided that digestion would be harmful until the German action ww known. The Government concurred in this view. llr. Horatio Bottomley moved an adjournment in oMer to ditvuss it, but the motion failed, only 17 supporting it.— Au£-N.Z. Cable Assn. The postponement of the police strike if explained by the fact that the leaders of the Police Union hope to receive the support of the Triple Alliance, who hold a conference at Sonthport on the 24th.
