INDIAN BORDER CROSSED. EXPOSED POSTS WITHDRAWN. Received May 29, 10.30 p.m. London, May 28. Router's special correspondent, wiring from Ppshawar on the 27th, states that the 'Dakka front continues quiet generally. Nadjr Khan, who has arrived at SVlatun, is now beginning to show signs of activity. A mixed force of Khost tribesmen and Afghan regulars advanced down the Kaitu river and crossed our border in the direction of Spin warn. Our small frontier post there has been safely withdrawn, and similar measures have beep taken at exposed posts in the upper Tochi, which is liable to attack should a tribal rising eventuate on the Khost or Birmil border. Some Afghan regular troops,, with Khostwal Lashkar, are reported to be taking up a position on the right bank of the Kurram river, opposite the Thaal. The general officer commanding in BeluehiiJtan reports the capture of the Baldak fort.—Reuter. THE AFGHANS RETREATING. SUCCESSFUL BRITISH ATTACK. Received May 29, 8 u.m, Allahabad, May 27. An aeroplane reconnaissance disclosed that *,he Afghans are retreating between Jelallabad and Kabul. Both towns were bombed, direct hits being obtained on tho powder factory, resulting in a terrific exnlosion. The attack at Bashgul river gave us four guns and a quantity of stores.
