At a presentation of medals at Milton 011 Saturday the Minister for Defence (Sir James Allen) praiaed the medical units who had taken part in the war. As regards the fighting units, the New Zealanders, he said, had failed only once to achieve their object, and that was at Passchendaele, where the conditions were such that it was a physical impossibility. A voice: Patschendnele was Godley's mistake. Sir James Allen: No. We have it 011 the authority of Generals Russell and Richardson that General Godley was a first-class soldier. Voices: Wa never taw him.
