DISSATISFIED RAILWAYMEN.

A PLEA FOR MR. P. WEBB. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants passed a resolution resenting the decision of the Minister in vetoing the unanimous decision of the Railway Appeal Board in the Longton case. Another resolution protested against the National Government depriving Mr. P. Webb and others of their political and civil rights. Owing to the interruption of the ferry service Sir James Allen is stranded in Cliristchurch, and this delayed Cabinet dealing with the railwaymen's grievances. The dispute regarding the Minister's veto will be considered by Cabinet when it meets.
