WHEAT SUPPLY. New York, May 25. Chicago reports that the vlsiblo wheat supply Is 14,402,000 bushels. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY'CO. AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Loan and Mercanllto Agßncy Company, Ltd.. report:— On Thursday last, at Westfleld, the demand for dairy cows and heifers, close to. profit, was keen, and high prices ruled. Best, £l4 to £l9 10s: others, £lO to £l3 JOs; all other classes of dairy stock and store cattle were neglected: backward springers, £5 to £9; bulls, £4 to £lO 10s; empty cows, £2 10s to £5 ss; calves, best, £2 2s Od; others, 8s upwards. Store sheep were practically unsalable, with prices very low; breeding ewes, 4s 3d to 10s; lambs, 8s 6d to 12s 6d. On Saturday, at Waluku, dairy cows and heifers brought £8 10s to £ls ss; backward heifers, £5 to £8 2s 6d; bulls, £7 to £11; empty cows and heifers, £3 to £C; yearling to 18-month steers, £3 10s to £5 10s; ditto heifers, £2 10s to £4 12s sd; calves, best, to £2 12s; others, 12s upwards. A small yarding of beef sold at fully Westfleld prices. Weaner pigs, 10s to 18s. At Westfleld fat stock market beef was penned in average numbers, last week's rates ruling. Choice ox to £2 10s per 1001b, others £2 us. to £2 9s per 1001b; cow and heifer beef, £2 2s to £2 7s per 1001b; steer 3 sold at from £9 5s to £2O 12s 6d (no extra heavyweights wore yarded).; cows and heifers sold at from £8 to £ls 2s 6d. Runners sold from £4 103 to £5 18s, heavv veaiers £3 15s to £4 Bs, medium £2 15s (o £3 14s, light £2 2s to £2 14b; lighter fat calves 18s to £2, freshdropped 8s to 15s. ' Sheep wera penned in scarcely average numbers. Competition was keen, with a sharp rise of 3s to 4s a head. No extra heavy-weight ewes or wethers were yarded. Heavy wethers 36s to 39s 9d, medium £1 12s to £1 15s 9d, light £1 8s to £1 lis 9d, heavy awes £1 13s to £1 17s, medium £1 8s to £1 12s 9d, light £1 4s 6d to £1 7s 9d, inferior £1 to £1 4s 3d. Lambs: A small yarding sold at last week's rates: Best £1 6s to £1 10s (id; one small pen extra heavy lambs realised £1 13s, medium £1 2s to £1 5s 9d, light 18s to £1 Is 9d. Pigs were penned tn smaller numbers and improved, last week's decline being fully covered. No heavy baconers or choppers penned. Prices were as follows: 2% to 3-year steers, £8; 22niontha steers, £5 3s; f.m. ewes lis. At Manilla on Tuesday 20th Inst., we had a fair yarding of stoclt which changed hands at late rates. Forward cows, £7 17s to £8 17s; store cows, £4 15s to £6 10s; boners, £3 12s to £4 ss; empty heifers, £5. On Wednesday 21st inst., we held a successful sale at Alton on account of Mr Charles Amos, who is tearing the district. His small herd of dairy cows made £ll 10s to £18; empty cows, £5 5s to £7 16s; fat lambs, £1 os, weaner heifers, £1 lis; 20-inonths iu-calf heifers, £8 10s. Sundries sold well at ruling; prices. At Palmer Road on Friday 23rd inst,, we had a small yarding of cattle which sold at late rates. Prices were as follows: Forward cows £7 15s to £8 16s; store cows, £5 19s to £6 IDs; boners, £4 7s Od. At Waverley, on Friday 23rd inst., we had a small yarding. Prices were as follows: 18 to 20-months steers £4 13s «d; 4-tooth wethers £1 2s 8d; weaner Digs 10s. FARMERS' CO-OP. ORGANISATION SOCIETY'S REPORT, At Okalawa yards on Monday, owing to the very wet weather, there'was a very small yarding, and prices were the same as late sale. Forward and store cows £8 10s to £lO Ms, Eltham yards on Tuesday, at our usual fortnightly sale, there was a good yarding of cattle of all descriptions, and quotations were on a par with late sales. At Hawera yards on Thursday there was a large yarding of cattle and a fair entry 6f sheep. Bidding was dull throughout, and prices the same as recent sales. At Waverley yards on Friday only a small yarding of cattle and sheep came forward and showed no Improvement on Tecent sales.
