ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATIONS.

FROM A HYDROPLANE. Received May 25, 5.5 p.m. New York, May 14. Professor David Todd, astronomer, will observe the solar eclipse on May 29, from a hydroplane at an elevation of from 10,000 to 15,000 feet. The hydroplane will be transported aboard a steamer to a point in the Atlantic approximately 500 miles southwest of Freetown, Sierra Leone, where the flight will be made in the hydroplane. He will return to the steamer's deck, when photographs will be taken and observations made.—Aus;-' N.Z. Cable Assn.
