GRUESOME FARES.
TWO CORPSES IN MOTOR-CAR Perth, May 1. A remnrkable double tragedy was dtS' covered in extraordinary circumstance! early on Thursday morning. A motor driver named Weylandt drove up to the central police station .with two corpses in his car. Death in each ease was duoto a bullet wound in the temple. Weylandt stated he was engaged Ott* Wednesday evening by Mr A. E. Mur* ray, of Cottesloc, to drivo Miss Bw Downey, a barmaid, and other friend* about the city. After dropping the othdß members of the party at their homes thß car proceeded at an early hour in tba> morning to Miss Downey's home in West Perth. Weylandt heard two reports, but attributed the noise to the machine backfiring. He waited for Murray and Mia* Downey to alight, but as they did not get out he thought they were asleep, and he himself fell asleep. On waking, Wey» landt found that his passengers ml* dead, and the bodies cold.
Murray was a man of mature age, mar* ricd, and the father of a family. Of had been an hotel owner at Kalgoorlw, and latterly he managed a station at Murchison. He retired several monUiW ago, and came to Perth. He left letter*, declaring his intention to commit suicidfc
