Tlje Katapol was to have left Wellington yesterday afternoon with 800 tons of general cargo for this port. She should arrive her* some time to-day. THE KAHIEA. The Kahtka, which arrived from Westport on Thursday, continued discharging her coals yesterday, and la to leave for Westport again today. THE RAKANOA. The Raltanoa Is leaving Auckland for New Plymouth to-day with the cargo of phosphates consigned to New Plymouth by the Novua, which could not berth here owing to congestion of shipping. The Rakanoa will arrlvo early next week. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa arrived from Onehunga yesterday morning, bringing a general cargo, and left again last evening. She Is due back again on Tuesday next. THE KIA DBA. Owing to still further delay at Southern ports the Kla Ora Is not expected to arrive here before daylight on Wednesday, May 28. While at New Plymouth she will load a considerable cargo of frozen meat, preserved meat and tallow. THE PAPAROA. The Paparoa, with 600 troops, is due at Wellington at 7 a.m. thi» morning. The majority of the men are bound for Auckland and the South Island. , BALLASTING STEAMERS. As an average of three troops a week is now arriving in the Dominion, together with other vessels, the supply of shipping for ordinary eargo Is really much above that In pre-war times (says the Chrltschurch Sun). A good proportion of the troopships are arriving In ballast, and this fact is causing delays here, as the discharge of ballast, as a rule, takes longer than ordinary caigo. The Carpentaria Is a case In point. She arrived in Lyttelton on Saturday stiffened with 200 tons of ashes, the bulk being from glass furnaces, etc. This has all to be uuloaded Into railway trucks It !» being dumped on the reclamation are* near the docks.
