OVER £32,000 IN AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 21. Some examples of the cost of the influenza epidemic were quoted at last evening's meeting of the Hospital Board. The chairman stated that the Minister of Public Health declined to pay the epidemic food relief accounts contracted by a Bub-committee of the Board. These aggregated about £IOOO, and there seemed nothing for it but for the Board to foot the bill. The Minister bad informed him recently-that the Government had expended in connection with the epidemic in Auckland alone between £32,000 and £35,000. In addition, the Board was paying on behalf of the Government from £9OO to £"1000 jmoc month in aDidanie pension*.
