.SYDNEY RACES POSTPONED. Sydney, May 21. Heavy rain is falling, and the racea have been postponed till to-morrow. THE WANGANUI MEETING. (By "Moturoa.") Wanganui, Last Night. The weather remained line ail Wednesday, and promises to be fine for the opening day of the Wanganui races. The racing opens at 11.45 with the Borough for which Demos and Silver Link are the most fancied. The Hack Steeples will only draw a small field, but Polthogue and Master Webster are likely to give a good display of jumping. The following are likely runners and riders in the Wanganui Steeples:—Master Strowan (Lorigan), Coalition (McSweeney), Arlington (Kaan), Bore (Ellis), Yellow and Black (McDonald), Foeman (Flynn), Gaekwar (Ward). Master Strowan looks very fit, and will be supported as if the race is all over. Bore may be his hardest opponent. Euripos is considered an unlikely starter in the Hack Hurdles, in which case Royal Park and Omahu will carry most money. The Century Hurdles may be contested by Paraoa (Deereyi, Euripos (Ellis), Whiro (Hanson), Munster (Copestake), Yankee Jack (McDonald). Seadown (McSweeney), Otter (Lambess). Paraoa is the pronounced favorite, but Yankee Jack and Munster may make the race interesting for him. Rewi Poto and Marquetour will have big followings in the Connolly Handicap, and the latter rends well at the weights. Tressida may beat more than will beat her. The racing will conclude with (he Purua Hack Handicap, which appears very open. Bold Boy has been scratched, and Signorel'a and Cadet may strip as fit as anything. The best gallops to-day were registered by Birkenvale. liu.ingliam. and Rewipnto, but /.Taster Strowan and Euripos :ilso looked very well. Paraoa jumped I badly, but may do better in company.
