Garden Party.—On Thursdjay afternoon Archdeacon and Mrs. Evans entertained the returned soldiers at a delightful garden party at their residence, and | the boys thoroughly enjoyed their out- | ing. Croquet was very popular during [the afternoon, while Mrs. Wood (piano) (and Miss V. Millar (violin) contributed | several selections which were much appreciated. Mrs. Hooker, Miss Thomson and Mr. Brooker were the vocalists, and their songs added a great deal to the guests' enjoyment. The ladies who assisted Mrs. Evans were: Mesdames Burgess, E. A. Walker, C.
