MASONIC INSTALLATION.
There was a large gathering of Free Masons at the Masonic Lodge Rooms, Robe Street, last night, on the occaston of the installation of Bro. Roy L. Parkin ' as Worshipful Master of Mount Egmont Lodge, No. 670, which was established at New Plymouth in 1853. The gathering was a vory representative one, among other distinguished visitors being Wor. Bro. A. J. Weeks/ D.G.S.W., Wor. Bro. Burnet, P.D.G.S.W. (Wanganui), Wor. Bro. H. W. Brewer (Wellington), Wor. Master of Mount Egmont Lodge in 1806, and Bro. Bell, Lord Kitchener Lodge, Cairo, No. 3402. The Grand Lodge of Ireland was 'represented by Right Wor. Bro. A. Goldwater, D.P.G.M., and his t officers. s ' ; The Ngamotu, De Burph Adams, and • <l Sir Donald McLean Lodges were well .t represented, as well as visitors from all \°' the lodges in Taranaki and qther provincial lodges. .; . Wor. Bro. K. B. Bain, W.M., occupied 1 the chair, and received the visitors. The beautiful ceremony was ably performed by Won Bro. A. J. Weeks, D.G.&W., who installed Bro. Roy L. Parkin, the Wor. Master Elect, into the Chair of King' Solomon, according to ancient custom. Wor. Bro. H. J. M. (Veils acted a? master of ceremonies, while the musical portion of the coremonv was in the hands of Wor. Bro. W. M. Perry, P.D.G.0.. organ- • ist, and Bro. McLeod as trumpeter. The Wor. Master invested his officers for the ensuing veer as follows:—-Tin* mediate past master, Wor. Bro. K. B. Bain; senior warden, Bro. D. Ritchie: junior warden, Bro. W. ?.. Keating} . treasurer, Wor. Bro. Edwin Chatterton; chaplain, Wor. Bro. H. V, S.' Griffiths [ secretary, Wor. Bro. Bellringer; director of ceremonies, Wor. Bro. P. J. H. White; . 'i organist. Wor. Bro. W. M. Perry; senior '. deacon, Bro. A. G. Mason; junior deacon, • Bro. E. G. Johnson; junior guard, Bro. E. Turner; senior steward, Bro. W. Jones; junior stewards, Bros. C. P. A> Waters, J. D. Campbell, D. J. HowarJh, R. P. Baird; Tyler, Wor. Bro. A. Case. At the conclusion of the ceremony an adjournment was made to the supper room. After full justice had been done 4 to the good things provided, a toast list was gone through, and at intervals songs wero rendered by Bros. Fredericks, C. Waters, W. Perry, and others, while-* violin solo was given by Wor. Bro. Wells.
