EVERYBODY'S. A DOUBLE ATTRACTION TO-NIGHT. "You Can't Believe Everything" is the title of a splendid production, the leading attraction jof the current programme at Everybody's to-night. 'Gloria Swanson is the star featured, and plays through the story in a manner that holds the interest of the audience throughout The heroine of the stoTy is ,a decidedly unconventional young I woman, and, either from pure innocence or an utter disregard for consequences, gives gossips plenty oi opportunities to engage in their favorite sport. She goes swimming with young gentlemen in the most daring of bathing suits, and is delightfully indiscreet in almost everythng she does. Her name is Patria Reynolds, and Gloria Swanson, who plays the part, makes her likeable and lovable in spite of it all, and is a fetching figure, whether in bathing costume of eye-arresting design or clad only in those intimate garments which are popularly supposed to be always hidden from the gaze of men. On the same programme there is the second episode of that big serial attraction, "The House of Hate."
EMPIRE THEATRE. NEXT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. "TARZAN OF THE APES." The fight between Tarzan and the huge lion in the' masterly motion picture, "Tarzan of the Apes," which comes to the Empire Theatre next Friday and Saturday under the direction of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., has been accredited with being one of the most exciting episodes ever photographed, Imagine a beautiful maiden within a hut, an open window, a blood-thirsty lion crouched ready for his spring. The cowering girl stands petrified, when like a bolt from the sky Tarzan leaps from the fringe of fungus and lands full on the lion's haunches. After a terrific combat the king of the forest lies dead. The maiden gazes spellbound on the magnificence of the jungle man whom she is destined to love through one of the most alluring and editing romances that we have been privileged to sec. This is only one of the many invidents of this unique picture. Interwoven is | a gripping domestic drama, dealing with the usurping of Tarzan's place and posij tion by unscrupulous aristocratic relations, who are exploiting his r\?lits in society circles in London, whilst Tarzan in the wilds' of Africa has only the society of the apes. This wonder picture can only be screened in New Plymouth for two nights—Friday arid Saturday of this week, with a matiness performance Saturday afternoon. The prices are 2s 6d, 2s and Is, and intending patrons who desire a seat should i reserve at Collier's without delay.
