FIRE BRIGADE WORKERS AGREEMENT. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The dispute between the Fire Brigades Union of Workers and the Dunedin Fire Board came before the Conciliation Council to-day. After a lengthy sitting, the following scale of wages was agreed to:—Probationers 555, third-class firemen 00s, second-class firemen Css, first-class firemen 70s, senior firemen 72s 6d; motormen to receive 2s Cd extra, instead of Is 6d as at present. Married men not provided with quarters are to receive a house allowance of 14s per week. Each man is to be allowed twenty-four hours free every Bix days, and the following holidays: One year's service, seven days; two year 9, ten days; three years, fourteen days. An agreement was also reached regarding uniforms. The agreement remains in force for two years.
