DISPOSAL OF THE LATE MR. TAMES' HERD. The disposal of the very line Jicrd of the late Mr. Wm James* pedigree Friesianß took place on Friday at the farm, Corbett Road, under the most favorable circumstances The sale was conducted by Mr. Newton King. Excellent selling arrangements were made, and it is not surprising that, knowing the quality of the stock held by the late Mr James, buyers were present from all over the district, and from as far afield as Opotiki and mid-Canterbury There war keen bidding, and every lot changed hands under the hammer. The champion cow Segis Galatea fetched top price, being secured by Mr. H W. Hoskin, of Mangatoki, for 200 guineas; and the same buyer bought the cow Nazle Fayne Segis for £l4O The sale realised 1649 guineas, the average price of the pedigree stock being £47 3s A few grade cattle and farm sundries were disposed of at average prices.
