May 10.—Orissa, 7.40 a.m., for Nov F.:- (ith. London, May s,—Polgowan and War Aconite, Cor Tremantle; Roda, for Brisbane. ARRIVAL OF THE ORISSA. The British India Company's fine steamer, the Orissa, arrived off the breakwater late on Saturday night, and at seven o'clock yesterday the harbormaster (Captain Waller) brought her alongside the wharf and berthed her Inside twenty minutes. She Is in the command of Captain Atkins, and carries a crew of coolies. Shs trades usually in the East, but with others of her line she was used during the war to carry foodstuffs to Britain. She is fitted with a splendid new Vlckers 4-inch gun for antisubmarine purposes. Her nett tonnage is 5436, and lier cargocarrying capacity 8000 tons, and her length 410 feet. She recently brought ft cargo of coal from Newcastle, and Is unloading 100 tons at New Plymouth. The vessel has visited the port for the primary purpose cf taking to Persia the Taranakl Petroleum Company's refinery plant, which has been bought by the Anglo-Persian Oil Comiiany. The loading Is expected to take six or eight days, and will be in the charge of Captain Smith, the New Zealand Shipping Company's stevedore. THE KARU. Communication from Wellington received yesterday Indicated that the departure of the Kara had been delayed till to-day, and In consequence her arrival here will not be before Tuesday. QUEEN OF THE SOUTH MISHAP.

Later details from tile Queen of the South state that the vessel went ashore at five o'clock this morning two or three miles from the Campbell lighthouse, while proceeding from Wellington to Lyttelton with a cargo of machinery. The sea was smooth. The captain has gone on hoard again and a tug has been sent (or from Wellington. MINEFIELD BUOY MISSING. Tiie Marine Department announces that with reference to tho Notice to Mariners No. 10, of 1919, on the subject of minefleid buoys which have been laid off Cape Farewell, advice has been received by the department from the Navy Office to the effect that buoy No. 6 has disappeared from the position In which It Is laid, and its whereabouts cannot be ascertained.

The orlgiual notice referred to gave Oescrlptions and bearings of the mine buoys that we're laid off Farewell Spit. THE BADEN POWELL. This vessel left on Saturday at noon for Wellington. Her cargo totalled 170 tons, principally tallow, and is the largest the Baden Powell has lifted from this port. THE KIM'S DELAY. Dunedin, May 10. The Kinl's delay at Bluff was caused by & fracture to the high-pressure cylinder cover. The engineer effected temporary repairs on Thursday night while the ship was at anchor off Bluff.
