Silently the shades of evening Gather round our lonely doori Silently they bring before us A face we shall see no more. No one knows how much we miss him; Friends may think the wound s healed. But tliey little know the sorrow Deep within our hearts concealed. Often now our thoughts do wander To a grave not far awny Where they laid our darling* loved one Just one year ago to-day.
