WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC LEAGUE.
It has been decided to begin sewing ngain on Wednesday of this week, in the Victoria League Rooms, St. Aubyn Street, in answer to an appeal from Lady Harvey for clothing for the French and Belgian children, especially babies. The Mayoress will, be pleased to welcome ladies who are willing to help by sewing or bringing gifts of baby garments. The last cases of gifts sent from New Plymouth were unpacked in Louvain. A lovely gift of prize crysanthemums was sent to the Mayoress by Mrs. Scanlan, and disposed of for the benefit of our returned soldiers. . Many would-be purchasers were disappointed .when the supply ran out, but when ready there will be more to be sold for the same purpose. Mrs. Burgess wishes to acknowledge with thanks the following gifts for Anzac Day: Hon. O. Samuel £3 3s, Dr. and Mrs. Walker £2 2s, Mrs. Ewing £l, Mr. W. Ambury cigarettes, Mr. W. W. Smith and Mr. Cock greenery for decorating, and beautiful flowers from Mrs. J. Ramson and Mr. Newton King.
