REPORT FOR APRIL, lll«. (Recorded at Pukekura Park Meteorological Station, altitude 160 ft.) Heavy rains were recorded on the first three days. From the 3rd to the oth the weather Was fine and seasonable. Cold rain fell on the latter date, followed by nine days of very fine but chilly weather, which continued more, or less through the remainder of the month. Visibility was prominent on the Bth, 17th, 23rd, and 27th, whkh was followed On each day by heavy rain, snow fell lightly on the summit o£ Mt. Egmont on the 19th, 24th and 28th, but vanished in a few hours. Cloudiness ranged from lmTn on the 25th to 10 oh the 9th and 18th (sunless days). Fresh chilly to cold winds blew oh twelve days, but the month was free from storms and gales. Following are the records: Maximum thermometer: 72deg. on 3rd and 4 th; 62deg. on 26th. Minimum thermometer: 60deg. on 9th: 42dee. an 30th. Maximum wet-bulb: BSder. on 4t'j; 48deg. on 80th. Minimum wet-bulb: 54deg. on 2nd and 9th; 43deg. on 30th. Solar radiator (sun's heat): HSdeg. on Sth; 125deg. On 18th. The 9th and 18th were sunless days. Terrestrial thermometer <3lh from grass)'.: 52deg. pn 2nd and Tth; 38deg. on 26th. Sunshine recorded: llmln on 26th; lOhr 44min on 18th; total, 188 hr 4min. Rain fell on 10 days, 10 points (100 to .inch) on 26th, 90 points on 2nd; total, 3.052 Inches Wind, south 14, south-east 3, south-west 10, west 8 days. There were no calm days.
