HARBOR BOARD LOAN.
OVERWHELMING SUdCfcSS ASSURED, Though no official figure* were available last night, it is understood that the proposal to give the board authority to borrow up to £300,000 for harbor improvement works had been carried by such a substantial majority that any | small returns that had to come in could not alter the result. At a late hour No. 1 and 2 Areas voted:— For i.............. 2178 Against . 119 'J he voting in Xo. 3 Area, the outer district*, was almost as emphatic in its Midorecmcnt of the proposal, the voting being:— For 890--Against 89 Stratford voted as follows:—For 660, against 44; and Eltham and .district (in No. 3 Area) voted: For 449, against 87. It is stated that Cardiff gave a unanimous vote in favor of the proposal, which must be carried by an overwhelming majority.
