• EMPIRE THEATRE. TWO BIG SPECIAL FILMS COMING. Two of the most talked about motion pictures at present screening in Australasia will be shown on the same programme at the Empire Theatre next Friday and Saturday. One of these special attractions is the three-reel Chaplin comedy, "A Dog's Life," the first of Charlie's new comedies under his amazing contract with the First National Exhibitors. Charlie Chaplin is the highest salaried man in the world to-day, and he has attained that position by reason of his genius—a very remarkable genius for pantomimic comedy. "A Dog's Life" is probably the most "expensive picture landed in the Dominion for some time, but it is also the most successful, and people have flocked to see it wherever it lias been screened. The second picture is another big attraction of a different nature, a screen classic eight-reel drama, "To Hell with the Kaiser." As the name implies this picture deals with the war with Germany. It is remarkable m every way and certain to create a sensation here. Owing to the bookings clashing the New Plymouth public are in the fortunate position of having these two big attractions on the one programme, the first and only time during the tour. The prices will be 2s and Is (pluß tax).

For the past nineteen weeks bio crowds have attended the mid-week programme at Everybody's fascinated by the Pearl White serial, "The Fatal Ring." This picture has held the interest right throughout its run and will conclude to-night in a real whirlwind scries of exciting happenings.
