A "J°P tlon was held in the church ante-ropm last Thursday evening, when a stiver tea service was presented to Miss Mary Hughson by raemhera of the Methodist Church and other friends who wished her every happiness In the future. On Good Friday morning a service was held In the Anglican Church. The evening service was held in the Methodist Church, Bev. Layliourne being the preacher. Both services were fairly well attended, the singing at the evening service being well rendered. ■ On Anzac Day united services were held again In the hall in memory of the fallen, when Rev. Addenbjoke, Papakakura, Strand, Messrs Gibson and Hughson took part. Mr. Gibson occupied the chair. The address by the Bev. Strand was much appreciated as was the beautiful singing of the song "Anzac" by the Rev. Papakura. Nothing could be more appropriate, being sung so feelingly and with such expression. Rev. Fapakura has been heard here on many occasions but never to such advantage as in .£ , ln i" a £, ce - The combined choir also contributed The Hymn of Peace," being sent from wanganui. Their voices blended beautifully, and the leading lady singer was heard to great advantage. The hymns were chosen by the ?°i r .J ,nd - w ? re all fairl y well Known. Rev. C. Mr. JJ. P.
