MR. MASSEY.
HIS MOVEMENTS AT HOME, EXTRA SHIPPING SPACE SECURED. Received April 29, 11.50 p.m. London, April lfl. Mr. Massey, while in London this week, interviewed the Shipping Controller regarding insulated tonnage for the New Zealand export trade. Following upon his interview, Sir John Mac Lay now states that it is anticipated there will be available for loading in New Zealand during April, May, and June thirty vessels, representing a total space of about nine million cubic feet. The proportions of allocations are as follows: April, seven steamers, 1,800,000 cubic feet; May, eleven vessels, 3,000,000 cubic feet; June, twelve, possibly thirteen, vessels, 4,000,000 cubic feet. Tt must be understood, however, that the allocation iR provisional, as the movements of the vessels are uncertain, owing to strikes, quarantine, and other delays.
The Premier also interviewed the First Lord of the Admiralty, the Colonial Secretary, and the president of the Board of Trftde oh naval questions, the Pacific islands, and commercial matters.
Both Ministers attended a football match, the Mother Country v. New Zealand, at Twickenham. All the New ZesUttta colony in London were present, also a thousand New Zealand soldiers. Mr. Massey, during the interval, presented the New Zealand team to Princes Albett fthd Heriry. Tlie Premier got a rousing reception from tho great crowi} of soldiers and civilians, and later had the pleasure of congratulating the New Zealanders on a well-earned win.
