GREAT SNOWSTORM.
NAVAL TUG LOST. Received April 29, 12.30 a.m. London, April 28. A great snowstorm on Sunday endangered the crops and damaged the orchards. It dislocated the telegraphs and telephones. Five thousand wires are down. The British naval tug Hughli was lost in the storm on the Belgian coast, and twenty-nine of the crew were drowned. Received April 29, 1.30 a.m. London, April 28. A fierce blizzard and snowstorm swept over the country on Sunday. There are several inches of snow in London, necessitating the use of snow-ploughs to clear the tram lines in some districts.
