A successful dew-stalking expedition 011 the southern Alps is reported by Mr. James Dunning, of Auckland (says the Herald)- Shooting in a district on the west of the Makarora river, which (lows into Lake Wanaka, Mr. Dunning secured a very fine sixteen-pointer, a "tip-top" royal or twelve-pointer, and a smaller royi'.l. The v.eather was fairly good. With A[r. J. Fanlks, of Pembroke, Otapo, Mr- Dtinoim* intends to leave, next «Tuly t for the far north of Alaska, on a big game hunt.
