FIRES.

A PAINT STORE DESTROYED. By TelegTapli.—Press Association. Wellington, Last, NightA fire broke out to-night in a twostoried brick building in lower Taranaki Street, used by T. A. Wells as a paint store. The building was completely gutted, and the stock of paint, wall-papers, etc., which was valued at £IO,OOO, was totally destroyed. Insurances on the stock were: Guardian .£3OOO, Phoenix £2OOO. South British £IBOO. The building, which was held on lease from the estate of the late William Fox, was insured for £BOO.
