It was decided to rescind the forfeiture of holding section 15, block VII, Waro g.D, which was forfeited by the Land Board for non-residence and deficient improvements. It was resolved to forfeit the accupation of section 13, block IV, Ngatimaru S.D. (293 a.) for non-improvements. Application was made for a further extension of time in which to reside on section 10, block XII, Waitara S.D., the lessee being still in England and suffering from shell-shock. —Approved. An application was made by Messrs Smellie and Wilson, the holders of section 1, block Vir, Ngatimaru S.D. (200 a.) to sub-divide their section, each leasee -to retain a separate holding.—Approved. The Under-Secretary for Lands notified the appointment of Mr. John Heslop, of Eltham, as a member of the Taranaki Land Board.—Received with congratulations to Mr. Heslop. - IN COMMITTEE. Thirty-five applications by discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Acts for financial assistance to purchase * properties, both rural and town, clear off mortgages, erect dwellings, and for making improvements and purchasing stock were dealt with by the board in committee. A number of applications for the purchase of properties were adjourned pending the receipt of valuations thereon. One application by a returned soldier for a remission of rent for the time he was absent on active service was dealt with.
