INTER-UNIVERSITY DEBATING CONTEST. . By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, April 21. At the inter-university debating contest in the Allen Hall to-night the speakers were: Auckland, G. T. Bellhouse and C. J. Garland) Otago, T. D. Milroy and W. J. P. Morrell; Canterbury, A. Paterson and J. 0. Dickinson; Victoria, E. Evans and W. E. Leicester. The subject was "that the League of Nations is necessary to promote the moral and economic welfare of mankind." After two hours keen and interesting disputation the judges declared the following result: Victoria first, Auckland second, Canterbury and Otago (equal) third.
