SHOOTING AFFRAY IN LONDON. Received April 21, 8 p.m. London, April 17. A shooting affray occurred in the East End of London, as the result of which six.' colored men were taken to the hospital, three being seriously injured, while one white man was stabbed and a policeman injured. A colored man fired a revolver at a soldier during a quarrel. The crowd, who resent the blacks' relations with white girls, besieged the shop for two hours, tore down the shutters, and attempted to to the building. TJiey finally forced an entrance and roughly handled the blacks, whom the police rescued.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ESCAPE OF INTERNED GERMANS. Received April 21, 11.55 p.m. Sydney, April 21. Four German internees at Darlinghurst bound and gagged a sentry and three scaled the wall and escaped. Two were subsequently recaptured, but the other is still at liberty—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. A NEW ZEALANDER DROWNED. Received April 21, 7.25 p.m. London, April 25. At the inquest on Pvte. Daniel Sheelian, a New Zealander, whose body was discovered in the Thames, the coroner said that suicide was unlikely and apparently deceased had straved into the flooded river. The Triple Labor Alliance Conference at_ Sonthport ratified the acceptance of .offers to the miners, raiTwaynien, and transporters. It also urged that the Trade Union Congress should 'convene a national conference to decide upon action in connection with the demand for tig withdrawal of conscription, the immediate raising of the blockade, withdrawal of troops from Russia, and the release of conscientious objectors.—Aus.N.Z.
