QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS LIFTED. Received April 21, 11.50 p.m. Sydney, April 21. The Federal quarantine department has lifted the quarantine restrictions on cargo vesesls from New Zealand. Provided they show a clean bill of health they will be allowed to proceed direct to the wharf, and the crews will be kept under observation while in port.— Aus. N.Z, Cable Assoc. Received April 21, 7.15 p.m. Melbourne, April 21. • The Commonwealth Government is organising a small efficient air force, the initial cost being £500,000, and the annual oommitmwit £400.000. LABOR CONFERENCE. Received April 21, 7.20 p.m Melbourne, April 21. The Labor Conference passed a resolution urging the repeal of the compulsory clauses of the Defence Act, also that the franchise be granted to all persons at the use of IS. and that all shipping be nationalised.—Aus.
