Intending passengers were refunded their money and all further bookings Btopped,—Aus.-N-Z Cable Assn. EMBARGO ON PASSENGER TRAFFIC, By Telegraph—Frets Association. Wellington, Last Night. A proclamation has been issued, at the instance of the Minister of Health, declaring Australia infected under the terms of the Public Health Act. The Hon. G. W. Russell states that the latest advices from the Health officers indicate that there are not so many serious cases in New Zealand as there were a little while ago, but he was not prepared to say that this indicated a general improvement. Large numbers of commercial travellers who wish to come to New Zealand are held up in Melbourne, but the Minister says the present position in Australia prohibits any relaxation of the conditions of the present embargo on passenger traffic, which must be maintained.
