INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, April 18. The annual meeting of householders was held last Monday, Mr. J. W. Winfield .presiding. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £lO6, due to Eundry moneys remaining unexpended in consequence of the epidemic. The following committee was elected: Messrs J. W. Winfield (chairman), R. Fawcett, Glennie, Jf. Peters, N. King, H. Manby, G. Burrows, and D. Allen, the last named having sat on the committee for the past twenty-one years. Mr. J. Sutherland was re-elected secretary. A subcommittee of Messrs Wintield, Manby, and Sutherland was set up to instal the cocoa system. Messrs R. Buckley and J. Sutherland have been approached by strong deputations to come forward to contest the mayoral seat. Both are councillors and conversant with the needs of the borough. The Inglewood scouts will be well represented at the New Plymouth carnival on Easter Monday. The bridge builders have been putting in a great deal of practice at the Scout Hall, and Scoutmaster Humphrey has the team in great fettle.

The Hawera Salvation Army Band is due here this evening, and will afford the public plenty of attractions during the Easter holidays.

The many friends of Mr. D. P. Evans, headmaster of the school here, will be pleased to hear that he has been appointed headmaster, of the New Plymouth Central School.
