THE FRENCH MISSION.
ENTERTAINED IN LONDON. London, April 14'. General Pau and other members of the French Mission, who recently returned from New Zealand, were entertained at dinner by Mr. Masacy and the staff, who, meantime, are. the only members of the New Zealand delegation in Paris. General Pau referred to the generous reception of the Mission in the Dominion, the pleasure derived from the rare natural features of New Zealand, and the instruction gained from the study of the notable development of the country and the happy treatment of the Native race. He eulogised the courage, fighting capacity, and discipline of New Zealand soldiers on the battlefields of I'rance, where common sacrificea and co-opera-tion had brought the two countries closer together. Mr. Massey aaid that New Zealand had watched with keen interest and practical sympathy the terrible ordeal thrust on France, which had emerged with triumph. He hoped France and Britain would be allies for all time, that a worthy peace would be secured, that Germany would be compelled to pay, that the perpetrators of the crimes would be adequately punished, and that a stem face would be set against Bolshevism.—Official.
