A MAORI HUI.
TO WELCOME HOME THE PIONEERS. By Telegraph— Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The hui held at Putiki to welcome the Maori Pioneer Battalion extended over nine days and has proved a big success. During the function the following food was consumed:—l 4 bullocks, 33 sheep, 40 pigs, 1200 loaves, two tons of mussels, 2000 eels, eight tons of potatoes, six bags of cockles, 30 sacks of cabbages. South Island soldiers received £335 in cash from the local committee, and Wanganui and West Coast soldiers received £IOO in cash.
