A BARQUE WRECKED.
WITH NEW ZEALAND CARGO. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch. Last Night. Messrs. Booth and Co., Christchurch, have received advice this afternoon that the barque Albert, which left Timaru on January 24 with 1473 casks of tallow and 50 bales of leather, has been wrecked on Point Reeves, California. The vessel was a wooden ship of 683 tons gross register, and she is reported to be a total loss. The cargo was valued approximately at £35,000, and was insured by Booth and Co, with American underwriters.
