MINISTERIAL VISIT.

The Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, spent a busy day yesterday. In the morning he was motored by v Mr Newton King as far as Urenui, the party also consisting of Messrs S. G, Smith, W. T. Jennings and W. A. Veitch, M'b.P., and Mr J. W. Deem, of the Agricultural Department. On returning a visit was paid to the Farmers' Co-operative Meat Works at Smart Road, the Minister being shown through the works by Mr J. T. Quin (chairman of directors) and Mr J. Milne (manager). Afterwards the Minister visited the racecourse, the Blenheim oil bore, the Taranaki (N.Z.) oil wells, the ironsand works and the harbor, leaving by motor for VVanganui in the evening.
