SELLING ADULTERATED DRUG.
CHEMIST HEAVILY FINED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last At the Magistrate's Court to-day, W. Murray, chemist, was fined £SO on a charge of selling an adulterated drug without informing the purchaser that it was adulterated. During the epidemic there was a great demand for ammonia and tincture of quinine. Defendant was out of supplies, but found a Winchester jar in a store room labelled "azamoniated quinine." A mixture of half a gallon was made up and sold next day. The analysis showed it was deficient in quinine sulphate, and contained methylated spirits instead of rectified spirit. Defendant stated the jar was in the shop when he purchased the business, and was unaware of anything wrong until the complaint was made by the customer,
