WOKK ON RIVERINA STOPPED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The steward on the Riverina who was suflering from cold, was removed to the hospital for observation. The watersiders worldng the vessel's cargo, on learning of the matter this evening, immediately stopped work.
CONVICTIONS FOR CARGO BROACHING. Wanganui, April 12. Two seamen named Henry Charles Lane and Frank Stanford, from the liner Tropic, were charged in the Magistrate's Court this morning with'cargo broaching. The case which they operated upon contained shirts consigned by patriotic committees of Australia to the Australian Imperial Force. Four shirts were found in the possession of the accused. The case originally contained 42 shirts, whereof 36 were missing Accused were sentenced to a month's imprisonment each and ordered to forfeit £1 each from their pay to cover the cost of the shirts.
