BELGIUM.
THE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM. London, April 9. The Brussels correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says that the number of unemployed in Belgium is 85,000, and is still increasing, while upwards of 2,000,000 arc receiving relief. The delegates to the Peace Conference have been instructed to insist on securing raw materials with the view of providing employment. The Germans, during their occupation of Belgium, eourt-martialled 110,000 persons on charges of espionage and helping soldiers to escape to Holland. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
