THE PUTIKI CASE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, April 9. In connection with the suspected case of influenza on the Putiki at Lyttelton the patient has teen removed to the hospital. The forecastle; of the vessel has to he fumigated and the crew subjected to inhalation. If the vessel completes discharging it is expected that she will leave for Wellington to-night-Pending an examination by the hospital pathologist it i 3 uncertain if the patient is suffering from influenza as the case presents none of ihe symptoms in pneumonic form. CASES IN QUARANTINE. Auckland, Last Night. There are approximately sixty cases of influenza in quarantine at Motuihi Island, including two nurses. Four of the Niagara's crew were landed to-day suffering from the disease, and one ease from the Port Stephens. A suspicious case has been found on the Rakanoa, which arrived from Newcastle yesterday, and the ship is quarantine! Major Petit reported' to-night that only three cases are serious.
