FARM AND DAIRY.
UNRESERVED DISPERSAL SALE PEDIGREE FRIESIANS. IN THE ESTATE OF THE LATE WM. JAMES. We direct our readers' attention to an advertisement appearing in this issue of a dispersal sale of pedigree Frleaians at Corbett road, Bell Block, on Friday, May 9, in the estate of the late Wm James. The trustees, in order to wind up the estate, hare decided to sell the whole herd, cows, heifers, bulls and calves, w'thout reserve, so that this might prove to be an exceptional opportunity for lovers of the Black and White to increase their herds or supplement by the Introduction of a champion. When Mr. Newton King sold his stud farm in 1916, the late Mr. James (who for years managed for Mr. King) was a strong competitor and secured some magnificent animals, notably "Segls Galatea," "Nazil Fayne Segls," "Fayne Segis Belle 3rd," and "Alcartra Pletje Pride Ist," and with these and others he commenced breeding on his own account, with considerable euccess, as he was a very successful exhibitor at the Tarauakl shows in 1918. The young stock to be ottered ut this salo are mostly by that pand old bull, "King Fayne Segis 2nd," or his son "Rahotu Fayne Segls," so that fanciers can.have.no hesitation in attending this sale on account of poor breeding, as Mr. James always obtained the best he could get hold of. The rising two-year-old heifers are a magnlacent lot and It is a great pity that they could not be exhibited at the shows this autumn. Catalogues containing full extended pedigrees will be available from the auctioneer at any of bis offices during the week or they will be posted on application.
