Dear Jamieson, — Thanks for yours. Am awfully busy and have only time for a line. Yes. I was awfully surprised at Newlands. He's one of the last men I thought would have done it! He's a great sport and ean take his "spot" just as well as Fylfe. I wasn't surprised, at his saying that alcohol was useful under medical supervision in ne eases, or that the disease was aggravated in the ease of moderate drinkers, hut I didn't expect him to go as far as to say that'if a proper supply were guaranteed by the Government there would he no sound reason against prohibition. He's on the mark, too! You're right! The liquor crowd's fake proclamation waa over the edge; the men here say' it has lost the "trade" thousands of votes. I see the Health Department has undertaken to provide an adequate supply of alcohol for medicinal purposes, and that will guarantee its purity. It's quite right that there should be no charge for medical certificates. I'm for voting for the child and the nation this time. Lots of our crowd are the same, and if we dared tell all that we know of the effects of liquor the "trade" would bo absolutely snowed under. All well here. Good luck! Yours, .
