Alliance has played in the Prohibition fight for so many years, and of the invaluable service rendered to the Dominion by the National Efficiency League, the fact remains that the issue on April 10 will be decided by the votes of the great company of Moderate Drinkers who have made up their minds to adopt the Efficiency Board's proposal in the interests of the country's future. To them will be largely due the credit for the great National reform. They are willing to sacrifice their personal desires for the common good and they are to be honoured for it. In one of our Southern Electorates, after studying all the facts, the Chairman of the Moderate League took the position of Chairman of the local Efficiency League. In a North Island Electorate, 82 out of 84 leading men of the district who signed the Efficiency League's Memorial to Parliament, asking that liquor be abolished, are Moderate Drinkers —two only were total abstainers.
