BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS.
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. The annual sports in connection with the New Plymouth Boys' High School, postponed from November, took place on the school grounds yesterday, and passed off very successfully, ine recent heavy rain made the grounds somewhat heavy, consequently no records were put up. A start was made at 11 30 a.m., and the events were got oS with excellent dispatch, and the officials merit congratulations on their work. In the afternoon there was a very good attendance. Kyngdon, by a fine performance, annexed the senior championship, and H. J. Boon, the junior cup. The tug-of-war events created great enthusiasm, the pulls between the day boys and boarders in both senior and junior divisions of the school evoking much applause. During the afternoon the Citizens' Band played a number of selections. Afternoon tea was served in a big marquee at the rear of the boarding establishment. Officials—Judges: E. P. Webster, I* B.
